Terms of Service

Welcome to Djent! By downloading, accessing, or using the Djent mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. Throughout these Terms, "I", "me", or "my" refers to Andrew Belfatto, the sole developer and owner of Djent.
1. Description of Service
Djent is a premium offline audio player designed for playing locally stored, high-fidelity audio files. I do not provide, host, or stream musical content. The App is a tool for managing and playing media that you already own and have stored on your device.
2. User Content & Copyright
You are solely responsible for the audio files, metadata, and other content you import into or play through the App.

  • You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to possess and play the audio files you import.
  • I do not monitor, endorse, or assume any liability for the files you choose to play.
  • You agree not to use the App to infringe upon any third-party copyrights or intellectual property rights.

3. Djent Pro & In-App Purchases
Djent offers a premium feature set ("Djent Pro") accessible via a one-time, lifetime In-App Purchase.

  • Free Trial: I may offer a limited-time free trial (e.g., 7 days) unlocking Djent Pro features. Upon expiration of the trial, access to Pro features will be locked until a purchase is made.
  • Transactions: All payments and purchases are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. I do not collect, process, or store your payment information.
  • Refunds: Because transactions are handled by Apple, any requests for refunds must be directed to Apple Customer Support, subject to Apple’s refund policies.

4. Third-Party Services & APIs
Djent integrates with several third-party services to enhance your experience (such as fetching metadata, downloading album artwork, or logging listening history).

  • Last.fm: If you choose to log in, Djent will transmit your listening history ("scrobbles") to Last.fm. This data transfer is subject to Last.fm's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
  • Metadata & Artwork: The App may query public APIs (including Apple iTunes and Deezer) to retrieve missing track data and imagery. I do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or uptime of these third-party databases.

5. Privacy & Offline Architecture
Djent is built with an "offline-first" architecture. I do not require you to create a Djent account, and I do not track, collect, or sell your personal listening habits on my own servers. Any data transmissions (such as fetching album art or scrobbling) occur directly between your device and the respective third-party service. Please review the Privacy Policy for more detailed information.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. I make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the App's operation, flawless audio playback, or compatibility with specific DAC hardware or iOS updates. I disclaim all warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Andrew Belfatto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss, file corruption, or hardware issues.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Changes to These Terms
I reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, I will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. Continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your consent to the updates.
